They are made to be high in calories and low in protein so as to provide high energy yet require minimal water for digestion.

The outer foil package is heat sealed to maintain maximum freshness and resealable for ease of dispersing and to keep unfinished rations stored without being exposed to contaminants.

Emergency food rations
Last year I ordered several 72 hours backpacks for myself and family. The emergency rations got eaten as snacks or when people went camping etc. so I ordered a case of 20 replacements. I just checked and they've eaten them again. They are so tasty that I have to hide the box so we actually have some in case of emergency.

Don’t go without
These are great for bursts of energy on long hikes and marathon bike rides. I carry them in my truck glove box For emergency in winter season. The flavour is slightly sweet and vanilla. I would recommend to have a case handy in the house or each vehicle. Great gift ideas.

Good value
I've had the SOS and Datrex brands that are similar to these, but I chose these as they have a resealable outer pouch to preserve and store them longer if you have to open it. Once their shelf life is gone and you have to eat them I've found they work very well as energy bars, particularly for endurance cycling/running, so you can put them to good use even if they never get used in an emergency.
